This
is our pride and joy, the queen of all techniques, which
has made Deruta world-famous. Lustre plates from 16th
century Deruta can be found in all the best museums in the
world. Due to its complexity, the technique has all but
disappeared. A plate decorated with lustre has an
attraction all of its own. The uncertainty of the result,
and therefore its uniqueness, make the ‘Lustre’ (by
which we mean the technique described by Cipriano
Piccolpasso in the book “The Three Books of the
Potter’s Art”, 1512) a world totally apart from the
rest of the products.
