The Manufacture of
Majolica:
 Earth,
water and fire are the primordial elements that mankind has always
exploited, and which the potter still uses. Nature’s work is thus
augmented by that of Man, who models the shapes of the objects and,
with refined sensitivity, mixes the various pigments used for the
decoration. All of this has been happening in Deruta every day for
more than 700 years. We carry out all the stages described below on
a daily basis for every single object, from the smallest to the
largest. Any variation or simplification of just one of these stages
would cause the loss of the object.
